Hello fellas.....
Have been helping my father-in-law with his 57 Fairlane project.
I have re-wired the entire car from scratch......however......I have gotten stumped. His ignition switch has 4 places.
1. power in....12v supply
2. power to starter......key in crank/start position. (12v supply to starter)
3. acc position (turning the key back past the lock position) has 12v output only when key is in this position
4. run position (between lock and start position) has 12v output when key is in this position or when in "acc" position

He has the GM 1 wire distributor in it.  I have the distributor 12v feed wire connected to the "run position" of the switch......however....there is no 12v present when the car is cranking, thus, the car doesn't fire up until the key is released and it travels back to the "run position" where it's getting 12v.

Any ideas......car fires up, he just doesn't like the way it's working.

Run it through the starter relay like OEM.

I noticed that on his original wiring diagram, it shows a starter solenoid with 2 poles on it......the one he has only has 1 (to engage the starter). Don't know where/why he has it. So we need to get a solenoid with 2 posts......THANKS!!!!!!
