Title: Disc/Disc Brake Master
Post by: rovohn on 2022-11-03 11:40
For those of you who have 4 wheel disc brakes, what is the best M/C?
I would rather not use Willwood just because they are quite expensive
Thanks,John :canada:

Your disc brake swap(s) (FRT & RR) are from what donor vehicle or kit?

Scarebird for the front and 99 Grand Marquis for the rear

QuoteScarebird for the front ...

Do you want manual or power assist? If power, good manifold vacuum?

(Should have asked this before ...)

Is the install complete other than the MC? How did you do your valving?

I have manual 4 wheel discs on my 56 Tbird, Granada on the front 90s explorer 8.8 in the rear with a 76 maverick M/S. It has a good feel and stops great.

You're using a 76 GRANADA all disc power assist MC with no vacuum booster or hydro-boost?

Its a manual disc M/S for a 76 maverick, granada discs in front with a granda factory proportioning valve and a explorer 8.8 rearend with factory discs, no booster all manual. I have the same set up on my 57 Ranchero but only on the front manual also.

OK, I see now. You have a DISC/DRUM MC on a DISC/DISC application.

I would think one would want to go with a DISC/DISC MC but the only way I know it came through from FORD was power assist (bore/piston size).

I think the OP wants a somewhat stock appearance and without the cost of WILWOOD, which I understand.
