i recently replaced the bushings and balljoints in my control arms. the problem is with the lower control arm pins in the front crossmember. they dont tap out like the rear ones did. now the control arms wont slide back on because of the new bushings the have no play. the front pins must tap out to get the arms on. a friend says to heat them up and then tap them out. i would like other opinions so please!!!! help me out!!!! are these pins just wedged in after 50 years??? or is there some trick i need to know??? any info will help!!!!

They are probably rusted in.  A good penetrant, like PB Blaster, let it soak overnight, and maybe put a big wrench on the head of the pin and twist it back and forth, they should come loose.  Incidentally, I have used old brake fluid as a penetrant, it seems to work very well.  New fluid out of the can isn't as good for a penetrant.
