I have received a set of 1960 ford Galaxie spindles with disk brakes recently and wondered if they are the same as 1957?

The frames look like 57s all the way to 64.l never could get a significant answer as what the. Difference was

Sounds like an aftermarket thing.  Even though part numbers may change, '57 to '64 are similar enough that I would expect them to interchange.  I'd try it!!

The brakes are in fact after-market, however the spindles are marked/cast with a Ford part number for 1960.  I also know the owner of the car that the brakes and spindles came off of, and it was his 1960 Sunliner which he upgraded to an Art Morrison front clip.

The 1960 spindle was used on 57-59 Police, taxi and Supercharged cars for 2.5"wide linings. They became std in 60. (58-60 T-Bird is also the same spindle). Pt#'s C0SS-3105-6 A.
The 60 used 11" drums. In 61 Ford went to 11 1/32" drums.
57-64 balljoints & control arms are the same except 57 uses a different upper arm bushing set-up.
Goodluck,
Ron.
