Title: Edelbrock gasket set in with heads-Do Not Use!
Post by: robhaerr on 2015-07-31 12:50
While building Project 302, we used the gaskets that came with the Edelbrock aluminum heads.

Long story short...the intake manifold gaskets failed and caused coolant to enter many of the cylinders. I thought my engine had seized since the starter could not turn over the motor full of liquid filled cylinders. I was thinking I need a new short block.

Luckily a friend of mine had heard this happening to another friend of his and told me about it.

We took apart the top end, put on new Fel-Pro head gaskets, intake gaskets, new fluids.

Runs like it should now...and no vacuum leak, either!

Well, fiddle sticks. I bought a set of Edelbrock .038 head gaskets for an FE because I'm running Aluminum Edelbrock Heads.
