Title: power steering
Post by: 193757 on 2008-04-24 20:34
I just installed an abspowerbrakes 567 box, fit great, my problem is the stock pittman arm does not line up where I have the number of turns on the box even, this causes the pittman arm to hit my headers after just one turn,

Has anyone used the abs power steering box and if so did you have to do anything to the stock pittman arm??
Cut or bend?
                                        Thanks,  193757

I have also installed there steering box , I sent them my stock pitman arm and they resplined to match the shaft on there box. I centered the  box equal turns each way and straightend out the steering linkage and slipped the pitman arm on,I dont know what engine or headers your using, mine has a 351W with early mustang shorty headers turns both ways with no problems.

bump for Kiwi Ragtop. This sounds like the way to go. I have a 460 in my Custom with Crites headers. Hope it all clears!
