I did not know that Bill,... yes. I would very much like the part number...I have an excellent small shop up here that does all my Alt. and starter work... a Kiwi Gentleman..I would very much prefer to run all FORD.
I can use this info for the next 57 and possibly this one.

Thanks very much Bill

Jeff the alternator comes off an early 90s Taurus wagon.  It has a serpentine belt pulley but a regular V  belt will bolt up.  This alternator will come in two sizes, 90 and 130 amp.  The Taurus will have either depending on model.  I chose the 130 amp.  It is Advance Auto Parts SKU # 15030109.  Go to their site, enter the SKU and you will see the pictures and specs.

There are several wire kits that make installing it simple.  Basically with an aftermarket kit you will have two wires, the output and the exciter which is 12V switched.  If you Google 3G conversion there are a butt load of forums with as many YouTube videos that have information.

I'm using the Power Master 140 amp version of the 3G.  The pigtail is the same and available eBay and several other places.  Pigtail also supports dash light.  The PM comes with pigtail, serpentine pulley and v-belt pulley.  I'm having a small issue with belt slipage at idle when the AC and fans kick on.  A seven groove serpentine pulley is available.  A double V groove pulley is suggested.  Takes a lot of power to spin 130+ amp alternator.  PICs of mine going in.

Very interesting!..Thanks to both of you Bill and Gary!

I just love a 56-57 T-Bird hood scoop on a 57 hood.... simple and graceful..... like it was made for it.The soft peaks on each piece just really work hand in Hand G.
Thanks buddy!

Pictures don't lie.  It's just plain unbelievable how nice that your 57. Fords are progressing.  You are spending
a lot of time on little details and it really shows  I especially like how the sheetmetal work is looking.. Between all of this and your regular work, how do you ever find time to sleep?
Keep up the good work. Jay

Jeff Norwell

Many Thanks Jay!..... Getting close to the paint booth soon
Sleep is overrated! hahaha

The struggle continues..... not a lot but. more odds n sods are metal finished and in a base protective primer to prevent any flashing... the Northeast is a always a wet blanket.
My painter and buddy top has finished some pieces..... the car is back home and fitting sheetmetal, painting underside stuff and what not......

Just carrying on when time permits.

Where did you get the t-bird hood scoop, I would think they are pretty hard to come by. Looks like it was meant to be there , anybody not familiar with 57 fords would probably think it came that way from the factory, very nice work in deed.
