Twas the night before a 57 Ford Christmas.

Happy Holidays to all 57 Fords International Members and Friends. Here is a little something that I found years ago and forgot about. Enjoy.

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the town.
Not a creature was stirring, everything was shut down.
The shopping was finished, the baking all done.
Everything was wrapped, time for some fun.
So out to the shop did a rustling partake.
There sits my 57, man this is heven.
The sound of my V8, brought my senses awake.
The cam was quite rumpity, with a slight valve train clatter.
The cold air has made the fuel mixture just a little bit fatter.
Taking advantage of the quiet, just seems like a must.
Into first gear I give my 57's lever a thrust.
Easing onto the road, temps coming up fine.
I double-check the little marker that signals red line.
Things are running fine, almost too good to be true.
You know what that means, just one thing to do.
Up come the revs with a blip of the gas.
Sidestep the clutch for one Christmas Pass.
Man does this 57 really haul ass.
In the blink of an eye, I pulled second gear.
I hope I'm far enough away so the wife doesn't hear.
Into third gear, I can hardly hear.
Into fourth gear, everything outside looks like a smear.
I know this won't last, but every quarter mile is a blast.
Off the gas, I just glide for a while.
What just happened always brings a smile.
As I back into my garage, I begin to wonder.
Is there another 57 making Christmas thunder.
Back into the house, but who did see.
My loving wife chuckling and shaking her head at me.
I ask! what?? being a little coy.
She lovingly says, nothing, my grown up little boy!.
So Merry Christmas to all you 57ers reading this thread.
Go play with your 57 before you go to bed.
