Freeing up the wind shield wiper motor cable

I have provided a list of needs to a local guy specialing in '57s for another wiper motor cable but response has been sloooooow.

My cable appears to be stuck near the wiper motor end.  I can tell that by rotating the knob and watching the housing flex/arc.  Months ago I put the cable in a position to squirt WD-40 on it periodically while working other issues.

Anyone have another idea how to free up this cable?  :100:

not sure how to access that particular cable but I use a moly lube for motorcycle cables and I have a "cable luber" that clamps on the end of the cable so you can squirt the lube in a controlled manner.  the moly lube works wonders and doesn't dry out like WD40

I got my luber and lube here http://www.650central.com/

here is a series of pic on how they work http://www.scootertherapy.com/clubepage.html

Roger  Think I have the one off my car will look tomorrow for you and let you know.  Ron when you change to elec wipers you don't use the off/on cable that Roger needs  , but use the other ones the moter bolts on with the same 2 screws that held the vacumn moter on. :iamsmiling:

The original cable should operate the mid-fifties Trico electric windshield motors the same as the vacuum wiper motors.   Look at the nylon slider that controls the motor.  It is the same hook up as the vacuum setup.  The difference is a pretty clever switch setup and "homeing" when turned off.  I took this motor a part, cleaned and re-wired.  Turned out to be a two speed motor.

Tom, thx for looking.  I wish I could figure out away to free the bottom end of mine.

Tom,
Thx for looking.  The local guy here has about 30+ '57s is what he told me so I should be able to get one.  In fact he has my list of things I need. The problem is the cars are about 90 miles away and he only goes there once a week.  I may just have to drive up there and do my own scavenging.

thx again, r
