Title: Sad story
Post by: Limey57 on 2017-02-25 13:21
Posted this a while ago, but now know the full story.  There's a 59 Ford for sale over here that has been cut into several pieces, a bit odd as the car is (was) in good condition.  Turns out it was bought by a travel agent and used as a static display in their shop, driven into the shop and then the wall bricked up.  There it sat for around 15 years until the travel agents closed down & the car had to be moved.  The landlord didn't want to knock any walls down so the car was cut into pieces to remove it.

Rumour has it there is another old American car (rumoured to be a Mustang) that was a similar display model in an old US style diner, when that changed hands another wall was built in front of the car, effectively entombing it forever.

What a huge waste of an otherwise solid looking car, especially over there where a car like that would be fairly rare. I guess it could be parted out so it isn't a total loss.

WOW!   That's a shame.   Some people just don't realize that these cars have value to them.

Yes, thanks. I'm trying to get them to sell the radio on it's own, at the minute they want to sell the entire dashboard complete, so I'm working on the them!
