Looking to change my 3 speed manual trans to OD trans. I have the trans but would like to find the OD Relay. Any leads appreciated.
you can wire it to not need a relay, you can also use a heavy duty exterior grounded relay
Unless it absolutely has to be OEM there are several relays at part stores (30A, 60A) that will do the job better then the OEM. Most late models use a 60A to turn on the many accessory circuits vice running that kind of power through the ignition switch.
Try a google search for "Herm The Overdrive Guy" . He has all the overdrive components as does Van Pelt Sales. The relays also show up on Ebay regularly . If you can scratch up a non-working relay you can rebuild it with a modern headlight relay. Go to the HAMB and search "55 ford overdrive not engaging" that thread will show you step by step how to rebuild an overdrive relay.
