Saw this on the "Barn" thought of the many searches for these units.  I do not know this guy or have any interest in his doings, just passing the info.

I was just about to post that here as well, maybe it will get some more exposure here.

Just to update, I haven't abandoned this project. I have a couple made but I do not have access to a Ranchero at the moment to finalize the testing of this, and it is a bit difficult to buy the sending units in bulk. I had a buddy who was going to test one of my prototypes a month or so ago but he has been quite busy. The only other stumbling block right now is that the sending units I have do not have the small tab on them to locate it in the tank. I'm not sure if this is absolutely needed because the sending unit only goes in one way, and most reproduction sending units don't seem to have this on them anyway.
Alternatively, the option still may be on the table for those who would just like to buy the special arm and a float. For those with silver solder it is not a huge amount of work to do, and I could provide instructions.

I'm interested in buying a whole unit. Might buy two, depending on the price. I posted a reply on the Ford Barn as well, so don't count me twice as you determine the response.
I'll send you a P.M. as well with my contact information, should you go forward with this project.
Thanks
John
