My gapes are all ok between finder and quarters, but my doors have about 3/16 of an inch or more out from rear quarter surface. I have, as best I know adjusted the striker door latch in but still can not get a flush fit. I would post pictures but yet to figure that out

Adjustment techniques with pictures available in '57 Ford Factory Service Manual.  If adjustments required exceed the limits of striker and hinges, 4x4 will be necessary.  Always adjust door to the quarter and then fender to door.

Pictures.

Doors will get twisted over the years.
If three corners line up and one doesn't the door is twisted a bit.
It can be straightened easily with a 12" 2x4 and some inward pressure on the door.
Place the 2x between the door and the jam about 8" down from the top and push in on the
door near the bottom a little at a time until it is straight.
Go easy and don't scratch the paint.
Goodluck,
Ron.
