Looking for the pin in the vacuum modulator for a 57 Ford-O-Matic.
You must have a Cruise-O-Matic. The Ford-O-Matic does not use a vacuum modulator

How do tell it was sold to me as a Ford-O-matic. He said he removed it from his 57 to put in the 427 4sp I saw his car.
Is there a tag on the side of the transmission with some letters and numbers? The Cruise-O-Matic was also made by Borg Warner, so it should have a tag.
So after some research it must be a 58 Cruise-O-Matic, I still need the modulator pin for it.
I just ordered parts for my MX (Borge-Warner) from FATSCO...great customer service. Whether you need a seal or complete overhaul kit, they are great with vintage, obscure new and some used, hard to find parts. They are proud on their shipping and handling...but so is a tank of gas. The Borge-Warner (iron case) usually have a tag above the pan rail. Depending on the model, some tags are on the right or left side...often red. The lower, left will likely have the model...PCD, PCE etc. Another model indicator is the length (front to back) of the iron main case...small, medium, or large case. The modulator pin can also be made. I would use a little better quality steel but I have seen nails used. It was only fifty years ago so I don't remember where I found it but some book posted the length of the pin. FOMOCO suggested changing the length of the pin to tune shift points. FORD identified vacuum modulators by a color band and were NOT adjustable. Age and aftermarket do not respect the OE color codes. The early C4, screw-in modulator is the same as the BW. BUT!! Get the adjustable one...there is a blade screw up the vacuum hose connector port...a 1/4 turn will change shift point 300-500 RPMs.

Thanks I'll give them a call and see what the can get for me, I'll just get the modulator and pin. I would try making one but have no idea what the length would be. I would post some pictures as I put this together but it's not a frame off build but it will be a daily driver when done. (Nice weather of coarse)
If you do get the whole assembly make sure the o-rings or internal seal are installed when you get it from them.
I got a hydraulic solenoid for my Fordomatic and it didn't come with the orings. Had to drop the pan to install some.
