Post by: cos on 2026-04-03 10:13
Hello Members. Anyone out there that can tell me how to take  pointer hands off clock, pressed on, screwed on? Thanks

afai recall, all 3 pointers are a simple push fit. I am not a 100% sure with the seconds, there might be a thread, but I don't think so.
the knurled adjustment knob is threaded on.

It has been ten years already when we restored my 57 and 58.

maybe these pics help.

Thanks for reply.  I would never try to disassemble like you did. Great job. Are there two different clocks in your pic? Mine is like pic on left.  Have two, one with two coils to rewind and other with spring with contact points.  Both  works but wanted paint orange/red hands, finally did it with a tiny brush.

the black one is a 57. the white face a 58, pointers are similar. My father is a professional watchmaker so that helped.
While you have the clock out of the case, it can't hurt to put a few drops of light sewing machine or watch oil on the gears and bushings of the wheels, you can use a clean toothpick and apply little drops to the bushings in the brass plates of the movement.

Beautiful job on that old timepiece.  I'm pretty sure it wasn't that nice even brand new.  Nice pics also.
I got to figure how to get mine out, I runs when it feels like it.
