Post by: coachjeff1 on 2026-04-22 19:04
I have a 57 country sedan with a 292 y block. On the right side of block , near the front is an opening ,like a filter or canister goes there. question, what is it called, what goes there and is it needed? don't know how to add picture, sorry.

I'm not sure which side of the motor you consider the right side but on the drivers side (left side) there is an opening with two threaded holes that is a little lower and farther back than the fuel pump for the road draft tube, it has a small canister with a screen filter and a tube facing down it acts has a crankcase breather, some guys block it off and install a pcv system in the valley pan behind the distributor.
