Hi All,
Just curious, I am trying to install a triangulated 4 bar suspension and the directions say to put the frame to stock height and level. What is the stock height of the frame?
Thanks
someone has to know the answer my 57 out for paint
I don't have the service manual in front of me, but I remember the frame specs are in the manual. I always set the frame to my planned ride height.
I'm guessing most don't know what the original height was, and are thinking their ride may not be as original, mine definetly isn't. I just kept working the ride height/rake until I got what looked good to me.
With that said, I'm confused by the apparent concern of "stock height and level" the directions call for. What if the final ride height was not to be level, as Gasman suggested above.
with that said, I don't know diddly about what you're doing, but Gasman does.

With this info...I will consult my manual...and see if I can find the info.
Okay...this is what I found...Gary...is this what I needed to show?
You would have to have non saggy springs and 14" wheels with 8.00-14 tires
Even my wagon seems a bit lower thank stock.
I think for the front there was a measurement post.
For the rear. It depends whether it's CS or Rachero or even sedan or Fairlane. They might all be a little different.
I know the rear spring pack is different for wagons and ranchero from the cars so it might put the chassis at a different height.

Yes...this is what I used. Another source would be the alignment specs. The ride height is usually documented...at least for the front. I think 'desired ride height' should be substituted for 'stock height'. Tire size and stance are critical to the plan. 4-link angles are forgiving but are more critical as performance levels increase.
Just a thought.....maybe by "leveling" they were referring to the width rather than the legth. That would make sense.
