Ok I am trying to reinstall AC in my car going well finally until....I need some ideas on how to keep the belt from rubbing on the bolt heads that hold the compressor base to the bracket. I know I need to still tweak the angle a bit. Just need ideas on how to keep the belts from rubbing.
Thanks,
Mike

Countersunk Allen head screws....
different length belt maybe :burnout:
Loose the washers and and use button head cap screws.

Checked different length belts will not let me get a tight belt, so stuck that way. I will check on the countersunk screws and carriage bolts. Thanks.

hmmm, carriage bolts mounted smooth head outwards. Now that might work.
try the shorter belt
Got the counter sunk bolts and the carriage bolts. I think the carriage bolts will still rub so am going to try the counter sink bolts. Just need to get a counter sink to use.

You are also running a belt that is too narrow. You will probably need a top width of 17/32".
The cords in the belt should be at the top of the pulley.
I worked at Dayco and have seen more rubber than a dead cat on the interstate.

Thanks Terry. Once I get things sorted out I will get wider belts.
