Title: Window regulators
Post by: KennyOne on 2026-08-01 19:42
I need all 4 for a 2 door and the handles.  There is no hope for the power windows on this car.

Aftermarket power window kits work good on the front doors.  I've never installed on the quarter windows.

Which after market power window kits are worth the effort? I have no problem installing them as the car already has the main power window relay.

If you have a car with OEM POWER GLASS and decide to go aftermarket, please do not sh!t-can the take-off parts.

Advertise them.

I've installed Ball's:

...and had very good customer support from Specialty Power Windows:
https://www.specialtypowerwindows.com/

I'll likely go with SPW for my next power window kit.

Thanks for the replies guys.
This 57 has tinted glass, ps,pb padded dash T&C radio that may get fixed 312 engine. I will probably get a power window kit.  Even the correct hub caps.  The P O was
too old to drive it anymore and it had been garage kept.  White over yellow Fairlane 500 club coupe pillard hardtop. All trim is good. It is period correct.
It was built in ST. Paul and completely undercoated.
I just replaced the rear main which had been leaking for 30 years.  The whole underside is coated in oil. One small rust blister bottom driver and passenger door. I am gong to treat it with the special conversion chemicals.

Unless they are physically damaged, there is no reason they can't be repaired. The only issue is the transmissions. They are getting harder to get. The motors are getting expensive but they are out there. Two door post cars are rare, nice find.
