I modified the Auto City Classic stock gas tank with a fuel pump kit from Tanks Inc. I used Tank Inc's sheet metal adapter to weld into the tank and keep the fittings below the top surface of the tank/ underside of the trunk floor. The optional(?) finish the new gas tank is available with welds fantastic, and helps the gas tank looking new for years.

suggestion: I had years of issues with the gas tank's vent tube because I welded up the original vent tube supplied with the new tank. I did that so I could install a tip-over vent valve on the fuel pump mounting flange. The problem with doing that is the tube would now have a low area after it goes down from the top of the tank. That low area can fill with gas easily and lose the venting. I had to remake the vent tube making it run UP into the trunk, then around the trunk to the side and eventually out to the oem location above the license plate.
Not sure if you have any other choice but the way I did mine, but talk to me about WHERE that weld-in adapter box should be located. There is a potential issue with the two fuel lines running into trunk supports.

Both suppliers mentioned are on our list of vendors.

I lucked out and bought a 22 gallon EFI tank from Bob Drake (I believe it is no longer offered). I used a Aeromotive pump on a Tanks Inc flange assembly. The only issue after several years was a clogged 100 micron final filter. I replaced the cheap one with an Aeromotive one. Don't skimp on the pump or the filter.
