Went antiquing with my wife this week. Two huge buildings with hundreds of vendor spaces. Almost didn't go into the second building. Trip was worthwhile when I found an October 56 Popular Science magazine. Cover story "your first look at the 1957 FORD". Price was almost 20 times as much as it was in 56 but couldn't pass it up. Half dozen or so pages devoted to it. Of course all pictures are Fairlane level no customs. Now I'll have to search for the November 56 issue as it compares the 57 FORD to the Chev and Plymouth.
Besides the 57 article the magazine gives a great sneak peek at the USA of the late 50s. Time of great optimism in spite of the gloomy cold war. Half the magazine is full of ads for home businesses. Anything from a small brick factory to repairing and establishing vending machine routes.
