Title: steering wheels
Post by: wolfpupsdad on 2007-04-27 17:24
can anyone tell me what years steering wheels fit on a 57 steering shaft? or where one can buy a reproduction wheel, or get on repaired without taking out a bank loan.

Don't know about years have seen post about into the 60's but something different about the horn contact on 57 to 58 and up.  A universal aftermarket wheel adp kit fits 57 alone if not mistaken.

I have a '71 T-Bird wheel on my '57.  Don't have the horn hooked up, it's a drag car.  But the wheel fit the stock splines.

I haven't tried it myself, but Eastwood sells a kit for repairing steering wheels. Might be worth trying it yourself.

I repaired mine with JB weld a couple of yrs ago. Primed with 2 part polyester primer, shot it with
polyuerathane. Still looks like new. :004:
