Post by: drof75 on 2007-05-21 15:30
Does any one know if y-block cylinder heads from different year than block, example; 57 block, 64 heads, will work?

I expect other that valve size, chamber size and maybe port size they are interchangeable. There is a Y-Block
web site that would proly be good to check with.
good luck, Ron :004:

They're interchangeable, but your performance will be affected. '57 was the peak performance year for y-blocks, and ECZ-G or 113 heads are considered the best if you're after HP.

Also, there is a rocker ratio that is preferred.  Unfortunately I do not know the differences.  These folks have it nailed though:   http://www.y-blocksforever.com/

Ron, I like the new progress picture.
