I have a part # of COAE-6316-A for a vibration dampener and need to know if it will work on my 57 292.
Thanks in advance, David
U might want to double check at the Y block site. The CO should be 1960. Which should be
292. The Y block being internal balanced should take a zero balanced balancer. I don't know why it
wouldn't work if it's zero balance.

is that a casting number or a ford part number?if it is the part number the ford partsman used COAE-6312-A is for a 352.ford changed 6316 to 6312 in the 60's
The actual casted # ECG 6316 D1 is what is on the damper. I checked with the Damper Doctor's cross reference, http://www.damperdoctor.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DD&Category_Code=CAS , and it was for 292 Y block, http://www.damperdoctor.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=DD&Product_Code=FOR2921&Category_Code=FOR .
