Title: Front suspension measurement
Post by: Alex L. on 2012-02-07 14:34
Could somebody possible measure the distance between the points where the tierods mount to the spindles?

I have my front end completely apart and (doh!!) didn't measure that distance before i completely disassembled the front end. I'm just trying to get a ball park measurement for when i reassemble everything.

Thanks

if you put the spindles on first then center the steering wheel. when you put the center link on the idler and the steering box just make sure the spindles are straight, i think both tie rod assemblies should be the same length.

I probably should have included that I have installed a new r&p steering system. So I don't have the steering gear in place to be able to do that.

Alex, I have the same rack on my 57 Ranchero, it has not been to get lined up yet, it measures 47 1/2" from grease zert to zert, and that looks very close to start with. Tom
