For you guys that do the HAMB thing...Jeff K just posted an album of '57 Ford pics, 112 of them. I was pleasantly surprised to see a pic of mine in there..about the only one of a project in the works. I think I spotted pics of Jim's,Gerald's, shoprat's in there as well. I had no idea so many guys were using '54 chev style grilles!
finally found the pictures your talking about, jerry
there's even a couple shots of my 57 before the last owner tore it down and channeled it. He also linked your profile pictures to the thread "anyone into 57 Fords".
Zap- :unitedstates:
Gerry...was that old pic of a green convert. yours? If it was, it sure didn't do it justice.
Zap...what number are the pics of yours? I think mine was 42. I haven't seen the thread you're talking about yet, I'll look for it later
weird thing id 43 & 44 were mine, commented on 44 and now its gone. Go figure.
Zap- :unitedstates:
to Rich, yep that was mine, 1 of the first pictures i took, the one i use now is better, if i could take that one off i would, but its not my post. jerry
Rich, did you see the link to the red & white custom 300, he fabbed in a 32 valve mustang engine. There was185 pictures on that link, nice work.
Mark can you post the link to that 32V install?
Bill
Bill, I should have bookmarked the page. Go to the hamb, general discussion. Do a search for "whos into 57 fords" I scrolled through the posts, this guy had a side link to his pictures. Let me know if you can't find it, I'll poke around. Mark
Mark...I hadn't seen it.Sounds awesome...I hadn't gone thru the entire thread, in fact I couldn't find it this morning, but I couldn't remember the thread title to do a search, so thanks for posting that.
As Zap said..Jeff K posted a link to my album, and the first comment was "looks like a good build, but far from being a HAMB friendly car."....I knew that was coming, just didn't know when LOL...that's ok..that'e their domain and I just need to remember to lurk more than jumping in. I see lots of cars that I wouldn't guess were Hamb friendly..In that thread by the way, There were some awesome cars..loved that black Courier, and speaking of cars that can't be Hamb friendly, and my all time favorite '57...that awesome ranchwagon that was done by Rad Rides by Troy....I didn't realize Poteet owned it.
Who is Jeff K. on here? The two pictures that were posted of my car were taken from the "under construction" site of this board. They've never been posted anywhere else.
Rich don't let the jackals run you off.
Zap- :unitedstates:
Zap...I was wondering if he was a member here also...I'll pm him on the Hamb and find out. Ditto with the Pic he had posted of mine ...only place was here. The jackals or jackasses won't run me off...I just understand it's a different atmosphere than here, and I need to watch what I post....I kinda think of it as someone coming here and posting stuff on their '57 chev.
Mark...just spent 2 hours trying to find that link and couldn't...if you happen to run by it again...hint, hint, hint. What's you're tag on the Hamb btw,?
Sorry about that guys, I'll go back and try to remember where I saw it
I looked and had no luck as well.....
Rich, easier way to find that link is to look up Jeff K. (with a period) look at his stats and click on posts by him and its one of his most recent posts. Click on it and you're there.
No issue for me adding my cars picture to his album.
Zap- :unitedstates:
x2 Zap...except click on his list of albums...thanks for the help finding it.
Great pictures!!
It's not his album or thread we're having trouble finding, it's the link to the 32 valve install that someone else apparently posted. Anyway, I sent Jeff a pm asking if he knew where it was..hopefully we'll know later today. Also called Owens salvage/flat top Bob on the Hamb. He wasn't in, but the gal took my number and will have him call. I'm trying to find out if they have '57 Fords there so we can add him to our salvage yard list. I was hoping it was a yard that allowed you to roam, but apparently it isn't....was going to be my next daytrip if they have '57's as it's only a few hours from here...not much sense in going there if I can't get in to roam and take pics.
10 a.m. ....my garage is almost warm enough to work in.
OK guys I figured it out. The link was on the hamb, "1958 ford custom, who else has one?" Page 4, post #72 Some of the pics are 6 years old, maybe you saw it already. http://www.carbuff.net/57_ford (http://www.carbuff.net/57_ford) he has a mustang dash in it, and looks like a fatman frame on the front, makes the engine swap a little easier. Enjoy, Mark :burnout: :burnout:
Thanks for your time Mark...I'll check it out. I may be wrong, but a Fatman setup on the front end should only change the engine mount situation and the small clearance problem with the stock upper control arms. Most everything else should be the same . should still be lots useful info there..we'll take a look and see. hmmm. maybe oil pan and oil filter bracket may be different also.

Man, I wish people would supply hot links when they find stuff. Still had to do a lot of searching around for the right place.

The album.

That guy had parts to sell in the summer of 2011. Jeff Norwell directed him to this site.

Tom. Thanks for posting the links. I sure like the drivetrain on that. Just when I was talking myself out of a dohc!! hmmm.
It sounds like the guy that posted the pics inherited the car unfinished, and "isn't familiar with '57's", and is/was selling it last year. confusing post he did.
Man, if I had the bucks, which I don't, I'd sure like to meld his frame/drivetrain onto my body and interior....not that there's anything wrong with his body or colors, I just like mine better. It looks like that car started with a pretty solid body. Really pretty car. Wonder where it's at now?
Tom, my computer skills are survival at best. I copied the link and posted it, sorry it didn't work.
EDIT: I fixed it. O0

No biggie, Frankie, & nothing personal. I copied your link & saw the album , but I wanted to see some of the other '57 & '58 Ford stuff there too.
I don?t know how many times I have seen where someone on another site I am on is looking for a part & somebody chimes in with "There's one on ebay right now!" But they don?t give a link to it or even a description of the wording in the ad when they had obviously just seen it. (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/TomIII/smilies/roll.gif) Drives me nuts.

ps: I want your Ranchero! (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/TomIII/smilies/yes.gif) :001:
WHAT?? You want to deprive me of the fun of looking! That would be like paying someone to build your car. They get all the fun!
