Title: Y block motor mounts for fe
Post by: rickj on 2013-03-07 12:04
I'm putting a 66 390 in my 57 hardtop. I'm using the y block mounts. I switched sides but the drivers side valve hits the windows holds wiper motor. It set right in but noticed that when i was wiring it up. Does using the 58 fe mounts set the motor lower?

The mounts have the open side towards the radiator

Looks like I have them Faceing the wrong way per a different post. I'll turn them around and see how that works!

This motor is out of a Mecury. Would that make a difference ?

It's a bitch to have to ask and answer your own questions.  Wish I could help.  I have never put a FE in a '57.

I had seen the '58 mounts used in many older threads, I am curious though..does anyone reproduce them, or do you have to find some old ones?

I thought I would try the mounts for the 58 they must be not as tall. Thanks

You can still order the 58 mounts from any of the large auto parts houses. Tom
