Title: Back glass for sedan
Post by: JPotter57 on 2007-11-14 21:34
Need a good back glass for a Custom or C300 sedan.  Would prefer somewhere in the southeast.  I live in Mississippi, but will be going to Tennessee in December around Christmas, and can pick up then.  Let me know what you have..

James:

I'm picking up my 57 later today from The Glass House, one of the Southern California classic car glass specialists.  He was unable to find any sources for a re-pop of the rear glass.  Too bad, because I think there would be plenty of interested 57 sedan owners.  If you locate a source for a couple of NOS or nice rear glass, please let me know.  Good luck.

Thanks Bobm that's what I was afraid of.  I found a source for new front windshield in Missouri.  I dont even mind used glass as long as it is not delaminating.  I'll let you know if I find something..

Oh, I should have posted back here that I have one.  Thanks 57Cust300....
What kind of other parts do you have to get rid of?  Good trunk lid maybe?

Here's 3 sources for rear glass:  PPG Vintage-877-855-8100 or Pilkington Classic-800-848-1351 or Phillips Classic Auto Glass-573-785-1927 ask for vick. All 3 said they could get repopped laminated rear glass from China for about $350 or tinted for an xtra $100, but each has a different delivery date!  "Bob" what about Steve Pierce in 29 Palms or Kolar up in Hesperia, they should have a few used ones around. A friend of mine just got one out of a '58 that had been sitting for over 20 yrs. that had a layer of dirt on it and cleaned it up,there's not a chip or scratch on it,like new with the original Fomoco script on it! Where there's one, gotta be a couple a more out there. KID
