My good buddy Donnie Gordon is finishing off his 57 Gasser.... been a long run in the works......But he is getting it down.A Canadian car to start and it was ruff... he replaced the lower 8 inches of everything.
New floors,trunk,frame,etc,etc....he saved it and admits... it would have been much easier to start with a better car....... but the craftmenship is outstanding. The painter is delivering final parts.
429 and a C-6
Donnie is a member here(I think!) and said it's cool to show these pics.He apologizes for not being here and will try in the future.

Looks great!!
Looks AWESOME!!! :smtree2:
incredible. I have been following that on the HAMB, very cool build.
BEAUTIFUL Car. Excellent Craftsmanship, extremely nice paint.
Thanks for posting the pics, Jeff. I can imagine the hours put in that to save it..great job.
Anybody got a link to the build thread on the HAMB they would care to share?
Rich
Not everyone can get the wheelwells right, this one looks real nice.
Donnie often states the car originally was really to far gone to really do... but with the help of some very talented folks... and long long hours.. he down to the short strokes.
I know there is a thread on the Hamb.... but it has not been updated in a long while..... Donnie ain't a fan.

Lorne,.. Our friend Rob Purcell is the one responsible for the metal work..... super talented fella.... he formed the rear wheel wells. He also removed the front bumper pan,cut and sectioned the front bumper in tight with the front grill.I have seen Rob do some amazing work and am always in awe.
It's obvious that a lot of good work and time went into this car. The body looks real nice. Even under the floor is painted.
Is it standard or automatic and is the front end stock? Inquiring minds...

ECODE-donnie is running a C-6(OR C-4).... He has told me numerous times... but I kinda glaze over just seeing his creation.
He is running a straight axle.... and I hounded him to chrome the front axle and stuff... but i think his Money Tree is withering and dying.
ha ha ha
Central Kommand center.....
Interesting note... a few years back we were in Detroit together(Autorama)..and some guy walks up to use and asks use if we want to buy a cool shift knob...
"uh,,ok?...let's see it?
He pulls out 2 moon shift knobs.... tells us he only made 2 as an experiment....
Donnies goes Batty... just like a fat kid on a Little Debbie cake.
They are really neat...real retainer springs... formed out of wee piece of aluminum....
I guess were just goofy.

hope you guys bought them both.

Tear drop Thunderbolt scoop would look pretty good on it. Or a tunnel ram with a couple velocity stacks :003:
I vote for a Blower. :003:

The straight front axle is what I was expecting to see. It was hidden in the first pictures. I know what you mean by the withering money tree. Great work!!!!
Thanks Jay

I'd like to see the windshield wipers work with that blower.... :003:
his money tree is ''withering'' and you want him to start over and build a blower motor ? Hmmmm
Zap- :unitedstates:
Seems every time I bring this car up can really figure out the paint color, just what color is it?

Well yea... he can take his daughters College Money.....no problem.
Color is a custom gold/Bronze...... no idea.
Thanks for all the positive comments on my car. Only took me a couple months to reply! The color is custom made by the painter, we call it Gasser Gold, why not!
That car is BAD ASS
Glad your here Donnie!!!!!!!!!!!
Donnie, that thing is just too pretty to be a gasser!!! Hope you will be able to bring it to Columbus next year. It sure would be a big hit up there.
Just keeps looking better and better. ..
Thanks guys! It wasn't supposed to be pretty, just ended up that way! She grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go.
