Title: Lower ball joints...........
Post by: Zapato on 2013-11-12 23:35
..........why are they so expensive. not to mention hard to find sources for them. they were used on many other cars by Ford and merc till 64. Am thinking I'll use the base of my original and build an adaptor to another ball joint.

There is a pair on E bay listed for the 57 T-Bird and states that they fit the 57 Ford Custom. $29.41 with free shipping. That's a pretty
good price @ $15 ea.

I've seen complete front end kits, ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends, etc for about $200

Dennis Carpenter has lowers for $50.00 each still a lot but much less than NAPA.  Also Kanter has complete front end kits at a reasonable price.

I've read that some of the front end kits contained Chinese made parts , that lasted just a few years.
