I just purchased this ole girl today 19,000 mile Arkansas car untill 1993 then came to Indiana . The guy I bought it from had it for 20 years and only drove it 413 miles . I chased this car for over a year and just recently got in contact with the owner before Thanksgiving and set the deal in place today .
Nice car, that's a real find!
Looks very nice, what motor/transmission is it running.
Have fun with it, they are meant to drive! :001:

Oh man...what a steal!
I couldn't help but drive it!
More photos please!!!

Great find, I love black ones.
Nice ride, wonder why he only put a few miles on it?
6 banger three on the tree for the moment . Im gonna buy a adapter plate and put a 5 spd in it and drive it for a few years with the 6 banger . Eventually it will either be a pro charged windsor or Fe . The guy has several cars and really enjoys working on them . I seen the pics of when he bought it with some light sun fade on the rough and door where the sun peeked through a window . He is a very picky fellow and did a frame off on the car . The only body part on the car that isn't factory is the front bump . The interior was sun beat as well and also redone . Im not a real happy with how they did it but gonna leave it for now . I just bought a new truck last month and now this so need to settle down for awhile .
Beautiful car...more pics please. Let's see that six...hardly anyone ever posts pics of those. I'd like to see the interior as well.
A 223 and three speed, I want that car :003:
Be a week before I can get a engine pic . Im not picking it till next week ground is to soft to get to my Toy Garage .
It was really odd I had looked at Jegrs 57 that had 37000 miles on it and this one with 19000 miles and both were within 50 miles of my house .
That's a good looking interior...kind of an updated but very 50's. I like it.
Great looking 57!
Looks like it came with a heater and radio delete but did come with a clock, kind of unusual.
Very nice car.
It did not come with a clock he happened to see the clock at a swap meet in very good condition and the guy hooked it up and worked so he bought it and installed it .
Nice car
I wouldn't change anything on it.

I agree with Jay, that is a car that should remain unmolested..
If I had it, low mileage or not, I would put my F code 312 in it..
Sorry fellows it wont be stock long . I got tired of looking at junk and high priced stuff . I was at a toss up between this one and jegrs car and held out for this one .
I totally agree with James. Aside from the fact it's your car..do what makes you happy with it.. It's not a particularly rare car (buisness coupe, d code, f code) although any 2 dr Custom is getting real hard to find. IMHO, putting a drivetrain in it more to your liking sure isn't gonna destroy any value.
With that said..I hope my next one is a 6 with a 3 on the tree..lot's of fun, easy to fix. I'm starting to think the old 6's are gonna be real hard to find before too long, if they're not already....and they seem to be gaining in popularity.
I agree Rich, I'd love to have a 223 and a three on the tree model just like my first 57, it was a fun car.. I build my panel truck with a 390 originally and then went back to the six. We do all our long distance trips in it and it cranks out 20 mpg until the unleaded/ethanol crap came along and now it only gets 18..
Picked the car up today here are the engine pics .

A modified 223, that is awesome!
very cool...thanks for posting
Wow...what a find!
The deal I made with myself is I wouldn't do anything to the car I couldn't undo. No cut crossmembers, no narrowed rear axles, nothing I can't unbolt and put the original stuff back on, which I kept.
you never know somebody may want an original 272,Fordomatic custom one day.
Im with ya I would never change anything I couldnt undo trust me I didnt chase this ole girl down to dick it up .
That is freaking very cool!!!!!leave er be!!! awesome
Last set of pics before i put her away for the winter . http://s18.photobucket.com/user/galaxie1_/library/Ranger/57%20Ford/57%20300?sort=3&page=1
