I got this from my daughter for father's day this year, it's pretty cool and I had to share.
It's called Fordite or Detroit Agate, made from layers of enamel over spray when the cars were hand painted. This piece is made from paint sprayed in the late 1950s. Too cool!
I love history and that is a part of it, what a cool piece.
Great gift...LOL..I wonder if you had a contest to guess what it was if you'd ever get a correct answer. Thanks for posting.
That is SUPER cool, and Happys Fathers day to all the Dads out there!
That is really neat doubt if I would have guessed right. My just turned 3 gran daughter showed up big smile on her face holding a "surprise for you'' behind her.She then revealed a bag of Happy Birthday M&Ms and the next words out of her mouth were "we always share papa''. And of course we did.

ha ha ,That is awesome!
around 30 years ago a welder in the tool & die bldg at fords was sanding some paint chips, that he had gotten out of the painting area, they were the same thing that u have, they sure are pretty, its supprising what some people can make out of what u would think was wasted & thrown out.

She constantly makes my days better. As they say her fingers may be small but big enough to wrap her papa around them.
