Well.. that a little attempt at humour pointed towards petew .. hope he got it.
I have not been active on this board due to the thrashing on a car that is near completion, so I will post here in this section.Thank you James.
7 years ago i purchase one beat to heck un chopped 32 Ford 5 window. In the last year we have been on the crunch to finish. One of my best friends Neil Candy has helped me with the car.
I won't go throughout the entire long drawn out story but you will see our work.
Some of you will know the build, some will not.
I am a certified EARLY hemi nut.
Neil lives 6 hours away and when I could i was down at his shop cutting, scratching, banging and just helping to get this together.
Some of the details are a blown Baby Red Ram 54 Dodge Hemi,QC rear,Sprint car steering. The body was un cut and I like it that way.The goal was to produce a early 60's hotrod.
Paint is a custom Rootbeer with a mini gold flake and butter cream white accents.
We are nearly finished and trying to finish up for the Autorama in Detroit.
God help me.
The frame started along time ago

Very nice work Jeff!
Yeah, yeah I got it. After 33 years of police work I surely don't have thin skin and enjoy a little lively ball breaking !
This is my little hot rod, a steel 27 T with a hopped up 29 A motor , watch out Norwell I have about 80-90 horsepower here and just might blow the paint off that little girl powered deuce ...
HA HA HA petew!
Thanks very much Bill!
petew,PLEASE don't tell me you love them lawnmower engines called a flathead?
Detroit...upstairs or downstairs?
like the copper plating...I had a plating guy suffering dementia...he plated some stuff without the nickel...polished the copper. It wasn't what I wanted for my project but it had a super look for the right color. Looks great with root beer!!!!
Really really cool...lol...Nice work Jeff. I like the fact you didn't chop it. Mark my words...so many are being chopped, one day we'll see a line of replacement roofs for most of the popular-to-chop models. great color...what are plans for the interior?

I will most likely take heat for this, but Upstairs,All the cool kids go downstairs ha ha.
The copper plating was a suggestion from my pal Neil, who hand formed the cowl steering cover.

Yes Rich,When others ZIG, I tend to ZAG.
interior will be booked in (hopefully) in January, think Ala Kart and you will be close.
OK! Tell me how you did it but when i clicked on one of your pictures it took me to your album on your website. Just curious?

I have no idea Zap? that is above my pay grade.
Jeff , I like everything but tend to love first generation overheads like the Y blocks. What I really love is anything different, hot rods with belly button 350 chevy engine and 350 trans are unimaginative.
The A motor in my rod is a fun piece but they cost stupid money to build,
Agreed AND agreed petew
Very nice Jeff, I've always preferred the 5 window coupe to the 3 window. Have been gathering parts over a number of years to start doing a 30 Model A roadster pickup but now my son, who is about to turn 18, has claimed ownership (ha, yeah, right!!!!), but he wants to do it as a coupe instead. I already had a rebuilt roller cam 302 Ford to go in it, but since getting my 57 I've fallen in love with Y-Blocks again and would like to go that way, though convincing him of that is a bit of a task. At the end of the day, it will be a cool little (?) father and son project that he will probably end up with so I'll try not to force my preferences on it too much.

Just noticed the 40 dash..... :001:
Were using a 41 Bill, I found out the hard way why no one ever uses a 41 dash, specially with cowl steering and Ansen Pedals.
I think I was a Sado-masochist in a previous life.

Building a Solid 292 or 312 in a Hotrod(NOT streetrod) would be mighty mighty fine.

...have two '41 dashes. It takes a lot of looking to find missing pieces.

Your so right Gary?I found a Fenton chrome Acc. strip that replaces the plastic factory strip?.. don't have one of those eh?
I have been waiting for inspiration to strike. I was thinking along the lines of a machining project to make that panel.
Here is a better shot of the installed dash. The 41 looks like it was made to fit.Not so.
Spent the Saturday with my pal Neil(Candy's Hot Rod Supply) at his shop.Front window assembly installed(ugh!)Rear deck lid installed and other small items.
Neil is a great fabricator and forward thinker. All the work was performed by him.I was the Shop Monkey.

That looks so sharp.....
While out with the gang for lunch today one of the guys brought his coupe and had a typical fabricated dash with modern gauges and I thought YUCK. Yours is unique :003:
Jeff
Your 32 is looking great. You put a lot of work in that body to make it look so nice. Believe me I know what it takes to make it look like that. I especially like the dash installation. It looks just so natural in your car. I always liked the 41 dash. That strange Ardun looking engine is quite impressive also. Keep up the good work. I hope that you get your new car out early this summer.
Looks like I'm going to have to hook up "all the carburetors" on my 34 flathead if I'm going to try to beat you in a race. HAHAHA Jay
Ha ha ha! I think your 312 will kick my butt Jay.
I don't think so. You have no weight and that huge engine. Where /How are you going to attach the parachute?
