Banditmobile (http://er3.com/firebird/67firebirdT.htm)
Thunder Road, Vanishing Point, Christine, Duel, Mad Max, Bullet
Used Cars with Kurt Russell and Nebraska with Bruce Dern (not really a car movie but at the end of the movie the son gives his father a new truck (at great sacrifice to the son).
I bought Thunder Road a couple of months ago... Bullit, Gran Prix....
American Graffiti, kind of a car movie.
How about two lane black top.
American Graffiti, Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movies had some cool old cars, on of the he beat the hell out of a 69 LTD cruiser.
How about these? TLB of course
Gumball Rally
Herbie
Cannonball with David Carradine
Of course, Bullit
Mad Max and Road Warrior
What about 'It's a mad mad world' featuring a lot of car chasing, crashes and even a 57 !

I'd forgotten about that one! Excellent film.
For me it's hard to beat American Graffiti, Hot Rod (with the grey primered Willys coupe), Two Lane Black Top and Christine.
Used Cars
and
Disney's Cars, (the most accurate car movie ever)
Ron.
THUNDER rOAD IS THE ONE
Although there both made for tv movies, Duel with Denis Weaver and Martin Sheen in the California Kid.
I know it is hard to find, it was a made for tv movie, but if you can find Moonshine Hiway. That is also ine of my faves.
I love Grand Prix,Red Line 7000 and of course AG.
If you get a chance.... go to the American Hotrod Foundations website and look up "Deuce" and "Slingshot".They are more Documentaries than movies.... but still great history and great footage.
Some really great flicks are "The Big Wheel" with Mickey Rooney set in the early 30's with awesome dirt track racing.Of course "Hot Rod Girl is fun and features Frank Gorshin and Chuck Connors.
If you like Drag Racing and history...The best I have seen is the 3 dvd set of Lions Dragstrip by Don Gillespie. It is very very good.
COBRA with Sylvester Stallone driving his personal 50 Merc. Don't remember it being anything special but was neat to see that Merc run hard in a few chase scenes.
