Title: Speedometer cable?
Post by: Custom_Shelby on 2016-03-18 14:53
Question....  will a speedometer cable assembly for a 1957-58 Ford fit the opening at the transmission end for a Ford C-4 without any alterations?

Yes.

It may require a speedo gear change.  '57 gears were long and may or may not work in C4.  Gear tooth count would likely need to be changes anyway.  C4s also have different tooth count on the drive spline(output shaft).

Thanks, I knew I'd need to change the gear as per the 350's I have in the pumpkin as well as the 225/70R15 tire size.  I'll order the cable assembly then see who has the spedo. gear chart.

I hooked mine up to my C6 and it works great. I did change my gear to the white one as the orange one put my speedo out by 10! The math might be different on a C4! HRD

If you can't find a chart,  I can calculate it for you!  :003:
