I'm looking to buy a 2 speed heater blower motor that works in both speeds and would like it to have the fan cage still attached. My first choice would be an original with the fan still attached because they look so fragile that they could get damaged when taking them off.
If that does not work out, does someone know the address of some company that makes a bolt in reproduction?

Been a long time, maybe 20 plus years, since I needed to replace a heater blower motor. When a local auto parts didn't have a replacement in stock for my 71 or 72 Econoline the parts guy let me go in the back with him to search for one that would fit. I think the main consideration was for that little motor to have a shaft that was long enough to reach where it attaches to the squirrel cage fan. They had dozens of those motors on the shelves. Had to open the boxes to look at the motors but I found something that would work.
I doubt that it cost me over 40 bucks, if that.
Jay says the fan looks fragile. Are the 57 fans plastic?
Yeah, I understand inflation but that $169.95 Concours motor seems WAY overpriced.

Aren't those just single speed motors and the switch creates the 'LOW' speed?
I'm curious if the "factory heaters" used the same motor as the "dealer-installed heaters". I got curious because of the wording on the Concorse link.
The motor pictured seems to have three wires and that would make it a two speed motor. The original blower fan is metal.
I have the one from my Country Sedan. I replaced the entire setup with Vintage Air.
Still a work in progress, but I won't be using any of the original "box".
If the motor that the Early Ford Store is selling is the real deal, I would buy it. The ones that most vendors are selling is a unit that will work CW or CCW. You pair two of the wires according to the instructions to get the right rotation. Yes, they work, yes, they are new, but I want the motor to match the one in my car.
I purchase the motor pigtails from Bauer Electronics and send that and the motor to Wayne Electric in Long Beach. It costs me 140 to have the motor rewired and returned to me. I agree the prices are high.
As for removing the squirrel cage. You need to back off the set screw that holds the cage onto the shaft. I then use to 3/8" thick pieces of metal plate and suspend the motor with the plates between the motor and the back of the squirrel cage. Then I tap lightly and the cage will come off. I then clean up the shaft and sometimes take a drill bit of the right size and drill through the opening. The squirrel cage goes back on easy and there is no damage to the motor.
I'm pretty sure I have at least one. I will have to look in storage. I am in Orange County so I'm close.

I agree. The only blower motors I've ever changed out had just two wires but could run at different speeds. Always ran the defroster or heater on the high speed anyway. Never had any reason to run them on low speed, What's the point in that?
