Title: Seat base / skirts
Post by: Limey57 on 2016-12-07 10:48
Can anyone advise the correct name for the parts arrowed in the picture?  I've got one and need to find another but I need to know the correct term to search.

Also, are these the same for any other year Fords to give me more choices?

Thanks

The parts book calls it "Shield-Front Seat Cushion-Side" for what that is worth. PN B7A 7062186(7)-AP

Ebay has a pair for the 1959 ford for sale. Starting bid $20.00 They look almost the same as the 57, but the top rear has a flare up which I don't see on the 57's. Don't remember a flare on mine when I painted them.

Looking a little closer at the picture, I think the 57's have that flare up. Totally missed it at first.

I have two pairs for a 1957 that I would easily part with.  One pair has even been professionally chemically stripped and ready to
paint.  Other set is just fine, but in original condition.  Send me a private email.

Thanks for all the replies, sorry it's taken a while to respond but I've been floored with a chest infection and now found out I've got a hernia, at this rate it'll be me that needs restoring next!

I've had some offers from kind folks but with the rising postage costs from the US and the falling value of the pound (thanks to the Brexit fiasco) I'm going to have a go at fabricating the one that's missing.  I'll post some pictures up of how I get on.

Gary I just came across a pic of Dick Jackson 1957 Kustom in the book Kustomland and there is a great pic showing the early sideskirts.
found it on the net
(http://www.kustomrama.com/images/1/15/Buddy-alcorn-1957-ford-4.jpg)

here's the link to the site

maybe this helps in reproducing the panel or finding the correct position of the slot and knob, if you have the early skirts.
