Did any 57 fairlanes came out with the block 292 canister oil filter?

Very early 57's used the 54-56 canister.

The changeover from canister to spin on was made sometime in January 1957.  There are two references to the change in the Thunderbird Restoration and Specification manual.  They do conflict a little, 'sometime in January of 1957' one says after January.  The kits to change from canister to spin of were available through parts after January 21.  The dealers were sent a letter dated November 8, 1956 that the new spin on filters will be production installed very shortly.   Randy

All passenger car engines were red in 1957.
