For you that have seen the cover of Hot Rod Magazine The Y Block motor was built by Ted Eaton Ted has just signed up for our group. Ted is a Master engine builder and does a lot of Fords. He built the Worlds Fastest Y block that is in Keith Cornell's 32 coupe. 188 MPH on the salt flats.( I had the honor last year of tagging along with Ted and Keith and driving the chase truck to go down salt and pull Keith back)! Ted is also building a 57 Tube frame 300 glass body. The engine plate will fit one of his wild Y Blocks or also one of the bad F.E.'s that Ted builds. Lets all welcome Ted to our group, he will be a big asset.

Welcome Ted!   Great Job with Engine Masters(one of my favorite magazines) and I love the Hot Rod mag cover.  Very impressive and deserving with all your work and testing.

For those just getting to know Ted, he was involved with the building of my current VR57 supercharged 352 inch Y-Block in my black sedan.   It really hauls and can cruise anywhere!

Welcome to the site Ted  You have helped me with carburetor questions on my 57 Ford.  You will meet a lot of good Y block persons here.  I met Keith in Cumberland Maine many years ago.  He always stops by my shop when he is visiting family in Mass.  Jay Arrow.

Welcome aboard ,Ted. I have only lately renewed my interest in the Y block. I once had a fierce 312 that had everything but fuel charging systems. It developed a knock and upon teardown I found the block had cob web shaped cracks where the main cap bolts threaded into. I went to an early 271 hp 289 and never looked back. I only wish I had all the Y block parts I've given away over the years . If I decide to build another , it will be a lot tamer, and I will go with the 292 block. It won't be racing so cubic inch won't be that big of a factor. I am glad to get some expertise of Fomoco, and this forum has a bunch. I have owned 57 fords since 1969 and I am still learning about them. again , welcome.

Thanks for the welcome.  The '57 is glass bumper to bumper with a moly tubing frame.  Here's a pic.

SOOOOO many questions. Lynn: as you called it a Custom, I was wondering yesterday if it was using the Custom's length and the Fairlane fin/fender style?? In the pic, it just doesn't look as long as a Fairlane.

Its from the same molds as Norms car.  This is a Suncoast car, which built the MegaFord car.Very cool, 7/8 scale.

That is extremely cool! I hope we get to see some video of it racing when it's done.
