Title: Edelbrock electric choke problem
Post by: Limey57 on 2017-07-11 15:50
Mine is hooked up to an ignition controlled live, but it doesn't seem to work.  I have 12 volts reaching it, but the choke doesn't do anything, I am having to wire it in place, start it up and let it idle for a few minutes before unravelling the wire & releasing the choke!  Anyone have any experience of how these should work & what I should be looking for?

these chokes need very thorough adjustment on linkage, choke flap gap, fast idle cam . as per instruction sheet. I think the new Edelbrock need a seperate ground wire as well. maybe the thermostatic spring isn't properly hooked or the vaccuum piston is stuck.  even the piston needs adjustment.
