Post by: 68HILLBILLY on 2008-07-25 11:03
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF A 59 2DRHTP WINSHIELD WILL FIT A 59 CONVERTIBLE?  NOT A RETRACT TOP. I need a winshield for my conv. and am thinking of buying a 2dr htp for pats. thanks

My '59 Ford parts book shows a total of 6 windshields. Two are for the T-Bird, one clear and one tinted. Four are for the big Ford- two clear, two tinted.

The big Ford windshields are:
B9AB 6403100-A    clear- all except 51A, 76B
B9AB 6403100-B   tinted- all except 51A, 76B

B9AB 7603100-A   clear- 51A, 76B
B9AB 7603100-B  tinted- 51A, 76B

51A is the retractable,  76B is the convertible

For what it's worth the illustrations do show the top corner edges different. The open top car edges seem to be more rounded.

My 1960 Hollander says 1959 Ford models 76B & 51A, and 1959 Edsel Conv only share the same windshield.
