trying to work on my project 57 fairlane 500 hardtop can anyone show me where the door and trunk seals mount ? had a 64 a few years back but it attached on the body for the trunk , car was without seals on it but came with new ones so i didn't remove them so i don't where excactly they go , also did 57's have a hood seal ? any information would be greatly appreciated
thanks , Roger
Seals are on doors and trunk lid. Hood has a seal at rear edge which is on body.
Roger a couple of shots of the seals on my Edsel, exactly the same as your 500.
Bill...........1st pic:first time I ever noticed, or saw, a door seal in that position. Are the Fairlane 2 dr htp a different location than the Customs? On my Custom, the door seal runs to the outer corner (so that it is over the door lock clip.)
Roger..........that cowl "seal" Bill is showing runs under/is held in place by the front lip of the vent panel. I think it is more of an anti-rattler/anti vibration for the hood than a seal.
cowl seal is to keep oil off the windshield
thanks to all great help !
