Title: spring assembly for radiator core support
Post by: terry_208 on 2020-07-30 16:14
Looking for the pivot assembly that secures the radiator core support.  I checked the forum and see the assembly/parts that's needed but can't find one.  I just returned from a wrecking yard but could only find ones from 59's, which are different.

Can anyone tell me what the cage nut that secures the bottom edge of the front fender looks like?

Terry............Go the the list of salvage yards here on the Forum.Look for Roger something in Kansas. Only listing for Kansas. Also try Steve Pierce in 29 Palms , Calif.
Do '58 Edsels use these same parts? I don't know. But if they do you might look for someone parting out Edsels. "Ford Blue Blood", here on the Forum, has a very nice Edsel, he would know if Edsels use the same parts. Reach out to him.

Here is the link to a service bulletin with a diagram of the parts. I think I may have an extra one, I will look today.

Yes, 58 Edsels (Ranger and Pacer) use the same system as 57/58 Fords.  I believe 59 Fords and Edsels used the same system as well.

I have (most of) an assembly but the spring has started to crack. It could welded but it would need to be heat treated. PM me if your interested. At one time I had considered having a batch of springs made....They seem a little hard to find.
