Title: Vacuum wiper knob removal?
Post by: greaseball on 2020-11-10 22:58
Tearing my dash apart for (*spray* :005:) paint and the W.S. wiper knob (to the cable assembly) is off but the chrome bezel is not un-screwing right now.

Is it removed the same as the vent pull-cables (unscrews in the front) or did I miss something?

Thanks, apologies for the stupid question guys

No such thing as a stupid question!

The bezel has a couple of slots on each side of the shaft.  There is a little tool that fits over the shaft and sits down in the slots.  The tool fits two different bezels that Ford used.

Other option is two small flat blade screw drivers and a pliers.  Real pain but it can be done that way.

Thanks on both counts man.
I was thinking "needle-nose pliers", but of course there's another tool I'd like to have :005:
