Title: Terry Friesen article
Post by: rmk57 on 2021-11-19 11:01

Hey Terry, great article in the Vancouver Sun's driving section on your fathers Ford dealership. Right at the perfect time for the "Total Performance" years to.

Hope your making out okay with the devastating flooding out your way. I'm amazed when I see the jet boat running up and down the Tans Canada highway in 4 feet of water.

Nice article about Terry's family influences and how cool would it have been to see all the new Fords at his family's dealership.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys, I will post some bonus pictures for you.
As a kid I got to drive Lotus Cortina, Boss 302, Boss 429, Cobra Jets, Challenger 6-pack T/A, Jensen Interceptor, 650 Triumph, CB750 Honda, R75/5 BMW and trucks up to Louisville 9000's, and my brother's 66 GT350.  Also had non-Ford guys stop in with Hemi power, big block Corvettes and the likes to show off their stuff.
We had the Ford of Canada Performance tour stop, got to ride along with the Hell Driver's, and a few more stories that I could only share with a beer.
I was at our museum yesterday and am getting some pictures that I had never seen before and will share.

Not sure which one of these you drove as a kid but it had to be one of them. One had black and the other had white interior.

Black Interior was dad's.  When it was being restored I provided the correct Dealer Logo for the car.  It went to Barrett Jackson and I think it fetched $280,000.00.  There is also an article in Hemmings on the Boss.  I get asked where/how I came up with the colour on my Mercury wheels and it is from this Calypso Coral paint and my brother's Cyclone.

Thanks guys, this is a happy distraction from the events of this week.
We had a mega weather event with 11-inches of rain in about 35 hours.  three confirmed fatalities and 3 missing.  I am high and dry but about a mile from the evacuation zone.  Went for a walk down there and a drowned beaver laying there, that is how much water was flowing.
The Trans-Canada Highway is shut down, another major road will be closed for months, if you watch Discovery Highway thru Hell, that is the road.
On top of the flooding, the largest RV dealer in Canada lost $45,000,000.00 when the fire department could not access the lot because of the water.  We have the largest water bombing company in the world based here and they could not go in because of the power lines right over top of the property.

We live at the top of the picture with the arrow.  We are told there is another storm approaching in Tuesday and they are trying to get the levee fixed by then.  The water is coming from a river just across the border in Washington and no one wants to remedy the problem.  It is a mess.

Terry...if you guys are waiting on Inslee and the state of WA to help fix it...you are out of luck. They'll need to study it for a few months first...

Here is my brother running his Cyclone CobraJet demonstrator with slicks on for the day.  This is out on the Sumas Prairie, with the flood this week, that road has about 8 feet of water on it.
Washington State has been studying the Nooksack River for 50 years, no money, the fish are more important, the dogs will bark louder, the moon is too full, etc.
Also a shot of the Hell Drivers, my foot was in a cast and the driver did the show with me in the passenger seat, 180's, 360's, up on two tires.

I am envious of your brother...nice car!!!
Equally envious of you for getting to go on that run!!! (however NOT envious of the foot issue...nope...)

They'll study it for another 50 years...leftists cannot make decisions/choices...not part of their DNA. You guys are on your own...glad I moved away.

What a mess, glad you are high and dry. Saw the RV fire here on the local new. Any info on how that happened?
I liked reading all about your live experiences, sure makes mine boring.

No report on the cause yet, my buddy sells the chassis to them and will be getting the report from him.
Here is some more stuff from my archives.  The Mercury Canada is a tri-fold with engine info and drag strip info for Canadian tracks.
