trying to get the back seat out of my country sedan .The bottom can out easy but the back doesn't want to play nice
what's the trick
are you talking about the 3rd row on a 9pssgr wgn? or the second row, 2/3 split bench of said 9pssgr. or the second row on a 6pssgr.
On a 6 pssgr the second row (one piece) seat backrest will come out either by unbolting the hinged panel ( which makes a cargo floor when folded down) or you can leave that panel in and just remove the seatback cushion. you will have to find 3 ( I think?) little brackets on the bottom of the cushion which hold it on the steel panel. then you can shove the cushion upwards and remove it.
sorry it's the second row of a six pssgr. didn't see any brackets on the bottom of the cuchion will look harder this time
tryed the hinge but can only get to one screw
Unfortunately I cant find any good pics in my files but I can take actual pics tomorrow.
ok thank you i 'll keep playing around and see if i can figure it out
I stand corrected. it's not even 3 little brackets, it is just 3 screws holding the lower backrest to the panel.
This is the worst picture possible but the only one that I could get after a few tries. The metal in brown paint is the lower edge of the backrest metal panel. the brown cloth to the left is the lower part of the backrest cushion (not visible when you just look inside the car, this is a weird camera angle from below and behind).
there are simply 3x Philips Panhead screws that go through the metal cargo panel from behind and go into the lower backrest cushion frame.
It's best if you just find them by feel with the backrest in upright position. with the seat portion folded forward, just reach under the backrest metal frame and you will find them , Good Luck ! Guenter
thanks i did find them, once i got in there with a brighter light
