Title: second skin audio products...
Post by: texasmark1 on 2008-11-18 09:20
Anybody out there ever heard of or used sound/vibration suppression products from an outfit called Second Skin Audio?  I have just begun using their product called "Spectrum" on my interior in hopes of cutting down both vibration noise and heat from underhood...  Be interested to know if anyone has used their stuff or others and how it works...

thanks, Mark

Sounds like "Lizard Skin".  Ceramic bubbles in latex paint.  Make your own, RC airplane builders have use the microscopic ceramic bubbles for years for forming and filling in their airplanes.  Comes in a large bag, mix it with 3 galons of your favorite color of the best latex you can get and roll it on or spray on with an undercoating gun.  Works great to deaden sound, blocks heat and can be painted over, glued over and carpeted over.  Just use a dust mask while handling the stuff.
