One of our new members, John Brady, is looking for a dashboard heater delete plate. I explained that many thousands of '57s left the factory with no heaters, and thus a dash delete plate, but the majority of them had dealer-installed heaters put in, with the dash delete plate trashed. I told him I had doubts he'd find one, but others may have a different idea. Any reproductions made? Any other maybe longer plates that could be trimmed down? What did you other Vintage Air guys do for the original heater control area? I'm no help, because as most of you know, my dash is totally reshaped.
I got one of mine from this place...

:boobies2:
thanks Randy. He was also looking for the upper heater hole cover for the firewall, but I was able to help him with that. john Gamble from the old 1957 Ford site sent him here. I wasn't sure John was still around, so good to hear, and a thanks to him as well.
Rich...YOU have an e-mail in your personal account...not here.
Not found. If you clicked on the email link here to send it, it's broken. Send me a text.
Nope...sent it to your personal e-mail...not here. Your Yahoo account.
Rich,...I "believe" Pat F. has bought the remaining Stock from J. Gamble.... not quite sure.
Had a death in the family, so haven't been responding here for a few days. Jeff, John Gamble is the one who told him to contact me, so I'm pretty sure John didn't have one. Actually, not sure which you were referring to that John bought up..........the dash plate or the firewall cover?
Hugh.I never got an email from you.
Opps..not enough coffee yet. Which item did Pat buy up? I think I have his number somewhere. I haven't seen him for a year or so, normally run into him once in a while at a car show. I do see his dad once in a while.
There are 2 firewall heater delete plates, the rounded upper and the rectangular lower. The ones John had for sale were really concourse looking die stamped pieces from I saw in the pictures.

John Brady was looking for the firewall heater delete specifically the upper one. Pat has a couple of Gambill's upper ones but he has plans for them. I bought one from John a while back and I found a used rusty one I bought and repaired with body filler. I drilled a 4" hole in the used one and I had it on my car for a while. I have the one from Gambill on the car now. Brady may need the dash plate too he is using a Vintage Air AC with the heater, he didn't mention that to me though.
I've got a mint upper firewall cover on the way to J Brady as soon as I can get to the post office.
