Yeah, the Canadian built vehicles have a totally different VIN code system than the US built cars. I have about every factory Ford of Canada service manual, Soft Trim, Body and collision , sales brochures etc, for my 59 Meteor, and there is very little information on how to decipher the Canadian VIN. Even in my Ford/Meteor shop manual, they give all the codes for US built models, but next to nothing about Canadian VINs. Several years ago, I sent a request to the Ford of Canada Customer Service office, with my Meteors VIN, and they sent me a nice letter on Ford or Canada letter head, with a breakdown of my cars VIN. The original paint colours, interior trim, what engine and transmission it came with, even the week it was built, and how many of that particular model were produced, at the Oakville plant. I can dig up my letter tomorrow, for the address and department, no idea if they still offer that service or not.
Thank you - that would be much appreciated.

I checked in BING by typing in "deciphering Canadian vin codes for 1957 Fords, and got a whole page of options. This one was the first one, https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=163300 maybe it will help.
If not, this was the page that popped up when I went looking... https://www.google.com/search?channel=fenc&client=firefox-b-1-d&q=deciphering+Canadian+vin+codes+for+1957+Fords one of these should be of assistance. Later...Hugh
