Title: need a section of A pillar
Post by: 1930artdeco on 2024-12-30 15:12
Hello,

Trying to save me some time. I am looking for a section of the pass kick panel area at the bottom. It is the section below the door hinge that has the compound curve and butts up to the A pillar. Anyone have that section from a donor car?

If knew I would have cut some for you.   My wagon suffers from the same on the passengers side.  I need let this come from leaking vent tubes over the years.

There were at least 4 late 50's Fords at the local wrecking yard last year.
Take a look at people parting cars.  Maybe some has that portion you can work with.

Thanks Abe, I will check it out. I found a wagon in a yard in Vancouver and they are checking to see how much it will cost to cut/mail it to me.

I purchased these EMS panels for my Del Rio project, haven't used them yet.
An important note. these front rocker ends are missing the original hole, which is accessible from the front fender wheel well. I believe one of the fender bolts/nuts sits behind it.
It is something like a 1-1/2 (?)" hole and rubber plug. which often deteriorates and lets in road dirt, sand and such into the rockers. but it may be an important detail if you want to seal the cavities with paint and/or wax !

I will have to post a pic when I get home. I think the EMS part that DJ posted about is just the door post itself-if I am looking at it correctly. I need the sheet metal that is forward of the post.

Here are pics of mine of one of the cars
Yeah I think those are short for the toe board section. You might have create that part.

Sorry there is a pic of me riding with my ice cream cone too  :005:

I'm due for cleaning the floor pans in this one and installing a carpet soon.

I will get back to making up that piece after I finish the O/D in the Model A this weekend. I have some ideas on how to do it now.

Well I have a game plan figured out. Now I just need the time to implement it :005: I rewelded the support structure and now just need to make up the piece that I need to replace. It will be more of a patch panel than a smooth piece that is inserted. But nobody will see it and it will still be structurally sound.

I am not very good with pictures but just put the EMS piece in and needed to fix the same area. It was pretty easy to pit a replacement patch. I also note the front fender needs to attach forward of the EMS piece in the rockers. I am looking for a cage as the lower rocker had to be replaced as well
